DT Teresa - Shades of Green 2

Hi There!

The year is already flying by with school holidays almost upon us. First term is almost over and Easter is around the corner!

With that in mind, today I am sharing a card to celebrate Easter in Shades of Green, which is our theme for March here on the Auzz Trinklets and Crafts blog.

This card uses Neenah Classic Crest 110lb Solar White Cardstock for the base which is cut with a paper trimmer at 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" and scored with a teflon bone folder at 4 1/4" to make a top folding card of 4 1/4" x 4 1/4".

The stamp set featured is Easter Friends from Pretty Pink Posh. I stamped the images in Ranger Archival Ink, a great ink to use for watercolouring as it doesn't bleed. I stamped the patterned eggs numerous times so I could use them in the shaker card as seen above. I used Strathmore Bristol Paper as it is excellent when using Zig Clean Color Brush Markers as a colouring medium. After colouring the girl, basket and eggs, I used the Pretty Pink Posh Easter Friends Coordinating Dies to cut the imagesI die cut a frame using the larger frame from Pretty Pink Posh Scallop Circles Dies out of Simon Says Stamp Green Apple Cardstock and then cut two frames from a foam sheet using the same die with my Sizzix Bigshot Machine.  I then took a similar sized circle die from Hero Arts Circle Infinity Dies and cut a piece of acetate and adhered it to the back of the green frame with Ranger Multi Medium Matte. The foam frames were glued together and placed behind the acetate, creating a little bed for all the shaker pieces - the eggs and the sequins - which I placed inside, ensuring all the eggs were put face down onto the back of the acetate piece.

I stamped the My Favorite Things Lined Up Dots Background onto a separate sheet of cardstock with the new Peeled Paint Distress Oxide Ink. This ink gives a wonderful solid impression, it is great for stamping images! I again used a circle die from the Hero Arts Circle Infinity Dies and cut the stamped background to place behind the frame and foam. I then stamped the Happy Easter sentiment from Pretty Pink Posh Easter Friends and adhered the easter basket onto the stamped circle piece and secured the shaker pieces within the frame. I adhered the entire piece onto the card base and glued the little girl with bunny ears to the front and the card was complete.

DT Clarinda - Shades of green - Number two

Hello peeps!

Welcome back for another instalment! I have a fun layout to share today and something that you don't see everyday. I spent New Years in Las Vegas, which is an amazing city. Even more amazing was this photo that I took of the lawn outside Caesars Palace. Just in case you can't quite work out what is happening, they are literally "painting the grass green".... It reminded me of Alice in Wonderland, painting the rose's red....

I began with a beautiful piece of paper by Fancy Pants - Charming which I stenciled  using Prima modeling paste. Once dry, I used Brusho in olive green and lime green and sprinkled them over the stenciling. I then sprayed with water till I was happy with the result.

Again I needed to let it dry... I helped this along by using my Heat it tool by Tim Holtz. Next I hand painted the chipboard using Dylusions paints.

I then layered different washi tapes in a criss cross pattern under where I was going to place the photo. I also stamped and cut out the mushroom image using a Dylusions stamp set - Doodle parts. I had used it as a mask for a journal page and really loved the green leafy pattern that was left on it. I thought it fitted in well with Wonderland theme so I layered it under the title. I then roughened up the edges of the page and added some 'bling' in the way of sequins.

I hope you enjoy my layout.
Till next time

DT Deni - Shades of Green Post 2

Hi guys, DT Deni here..

I am a little late with my blog post this week as I've had a lot going on.

My Boyfriend and I took a few days away from our lives and went on a little trip just the two of us to The Whitsundays. While we were on Whitehaven Beach my partner proposed to me :-) It was absolutely perfect and he couldn't have done it in a more beautiful spot.
So now i'm organising a wedding on top of some family stuff that is going on.. hence me totally losing the plot and forgetting my blog post lol.

So here goes..

I have used a stamp set (new to me) from Lawn Fawn called Thanks a Bushel. I loved this stamp set but I wasn't sure how I would use it. I decided to make my youngest sons Teacher a card of him to give to her just to show our appreciation for all that she does.

Normally we would do red apples for a teacher, but I decided to go green and use it for my Design Team project.

I grabbed some Mondi Color Copy scraps that I had sitting in my tub, then had a quick think about what i was going to do..

I decided I wanted to add the single apples also, so I stamped those using Memento Tuxedo Black using Lawn Fawn Acrylic Blocks onto Post It tape and fussy cut them out. I stamped the two single apples on the left and right (don't forget you always stamp the images u want in front first), I then placed my two post it note apples on top of the stamp images and then stamped the apple basket. At the last minute i decided to stamp all the little faces onto the apples which just turned out so cute.

I then coloured up all the apples using Copic Markers (listed below). I cut the stitched square using Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares dies.

I stamped the sentiment word "Thanks" onto the square using Memento Tuxedo Black and I then stamped the rest of the sentiment using Versamark Watermark Ink onto some Canson Black Card Stock (I did use my embossing buddy before stamping) which I just cut to size on my trimmer. I then added some Wow Opaque White Embossing Powder to the sentiment and melted it using my Heat Gun.

I cut the mats using American Crafts and Canson Cardstock, I couldn't find a patterned paper i liked for this card so i decided to make my own and stamp the apples all over a square mat of the Mondi Color Copy. I attached all the layers onto a Twiddleybitz Card Base using my ATG.

I had so much fun making this card and hope I have inspired you to think outside of the box.

Today's Favourite....Shades of Green

Hey Everyone, Its Tracey here to share a fun layout I designed for this months theme "Shades of Green".

I used three different shades of  green "Gelatos" to create the background. First up I sealed the background with gesso, I then scribbled all over some clear plastic packaging with the gelatos,  added water then mixed it, before laying it face down on my page. I repeated this process until I was happy with the look. I used a stencil and modeling paste to add the tiny X's.
A close up of the cocktail recipe  background.
The striped background paper behind the photo was created by masking off the area and using the same colour Gelatos.
I also used Die cut doily and leaves, chipboard title...coloured black with copics.

Thanks for Looking

Happy Creating 😊

DT Teresa - Shades of Green

Hello Everyone!

Today I am sharing a card to suit our theme for March, Shades of Green.

This card uses Neenah Classic Crest 110lb Smooth Solar White Cardstock for the base which is cut with a paper trimmer at 4 ¼" x 11" and scored with a teflon bone folder at 5 ½" to make a top folding card of 5 ½" x 4 ¼".

I began by 'smooshing' four Distress Ink Pads (Cracked Pistachio, Lucky Clover, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn) onto a Ken Oliver Best Ever Craft Mat side by side and squirted the ink with a little water from a Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer Bottle a few times. I took a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Cardstock cut at 5 ½" x 4 ¼" and tapped it into the ink, allowing the ink to spread over the paper. When it was entirely covered, I set it aside to air dry. I quickly cleaned the ink from the mat easily with a cloth - paper towel would also work well.

I opted to create a whale (a long time favourite beastie) for my focal point as the background was reminiscent of a sea spray - albeit green - so I chose the Lawn Fawn Narwhal and Friends die set for this card. I used Bazzill coloured cardstock from my stash to create this happy fellow with his spout. Such a cutie isn't he?!

I used a die from My Favorite Things Blueprints 27 and cut a bright green piece of Bazzill cardstock from my stash with my Sizzix Bigshot Machine. I stamped the sentiment from My Favorite Things Twice the Wishes in Versamark ink onto this piece after using anti-static powder to prevent stray embossing powder from adhering in unwanted places, using my MISTI stamping tool. I then poured Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder onto the stamped sentiment and heated it with a Wagner heat tool.

Once the watercolour piece was dry, I used the Sizzix Bigshot Machine and diecut the cardstock with the My Favorite Things Peek-a-Boo Polka Dots background die. I attempted to leave as many dots in place as possible to keep them in order as I wanted to place them onto the card base as they appeared on the previously uncut piece. I placed foam dots onto each and every dot that stayed in place and removed the backing paper from the foam dots before lining up the watercolor piece with the card base and adhering the dots in place. I left the piece holding the dots in place and proceeded to place foam dots onto the 'escapee' dots and then puzzle pieced them into their respective holes. Once they were all laid onto the card base, I removed the negative piece. I plan to use this on a future card.

I doubled the height of the sentiment and whale diecuts using two layers of foam dots and adhered them in place and the card was complete.

Thankyou for following along with me today. Please feel free to ask questions if anything needs clarifying. DT Clarinda - Shades of green

Hello everyone!!

It is that time again. This month I was able to play with some of my favourite colours. I have kind of cheated a bit because one of my favourite colour combos are green and blue, so I have created a fun summer themed layout of my family enjoying the pool.

This began with a sheet of paper by 13 Arts - Life's a beach.  I then used a stencil to create a line of 'bubbles' using the TCW278 - circle explosion stencil and Prima modelling paste.

Once that was dry I used a range of izinks in opaline, iris, bamboo and topaz and dripped them across the bubbles, spraying water onto it as needed.  Once this was dry I added the circle stamps using two  bobunny stamp sets - Elements and Urban.

I coloured the circles in with Gelatos. I then used a background stamp grid - kaisercraft and gold stazon ink to add the grid pattern, hand drew some black swirls and used Lindy's flat black spray ink to add drips of black. I roughened up the edges of the paper and also used the black spray to edge the paper.

To finish off I backed the Tim Holtz word stickers onto black cardstock as well as matting the photo and added these. I cut a prima flutter vine and added that. Lastly I added Glass pebbles that I had painted the back in gold and added an embellishment by My2Angles.

I hope you enjoy this weeks project. Thanks for visiting.
Hugs.  Clarinda xx

DT Tracey....shades of green

 Hey Everyone,
Its Tracey with you today, to share a card I designed using our March inspiration "All Shades of GREEN".

First up I added ink to an embossing folder, lightly spraying it with water. Then using water colour paper I pressed it down firmly on the embossing folder to create the design. I used the same technique on my last card......its just a great way to use the pretty designs instead of dry embossing!  The butterflies were die cut from the doily design.

The stamp set I have used is  Papertrey Ink "Button Boutique". It is an older collection! Did you know Neha can order lots of products on request......if you don't see it in the store just ask....there is a good chance she can get it in for you😊
The large heart is Die cut from corrugated card, a few wooden buttons to embellish along with "Nuvo Crystal Drops" for the center of the lace flowers and a sprinkle of sequins.

Happy Creating x

DT Deni - March Shades Of Green

Hi Everyone,

DT Deni here with you today on the Auzz Trinklets blog, this month we are playing with "All Shades Of Green". We didn't want to focus on St Pats Day so we thought why not think outside of the box.

Front of card

Inside of card

I have created a card today using a stamp set from Newton's Nook called Magical Dreams. This is a pretty new company to me so I was quite excited to try them out. They are a clear stamp set which i love as it allows me to see exactly what and where I am stamping. You just attach them to an Acrylic Block/Misti or Stamp Press, stamp and ink away.

I attached the image to a Lawn Fawn Acrylic Block, inked the stamp up using Memento Tuxedo Black and stamped it onto some Mondi Color Copy 200gsm cardstock. I knew I was planning on Fussy Cutting the image so i just used some leftovers from another project.

I coloured the image up using Copic Markers (listed below) then coated the light green sections using Wink Of Stella Clear Glitter Brush. I then grabbed my Cutterbee Scissors (these scissors are perfect for fussy cutting) and fussy cut the image out.

My friend sent me some Sketches to have a play with as I've been in a bit of a creative slump at the moment, so that's what i was using while making this card - ill try and post a link if i can find where she got it from.
Next i went hunting through all my papers to find a few matching "Green" papers to make my card come to life. I found a 6x6 paper pad from American Crafts called Autumn Crisp which had exactly what i was looking for.

I cut a matt 12.5x12.5 matt from Green Cardstock in my leftovers tub (i actually cut two, one for the inside of the card also), I then cut a 12x12 matt from American Crafts white cardstock, and then a 11.5x11.5 square from the pattern paper. Cutting a matt inbetween the green and the pattern just breaks it up a little. I also cut a 11.5 square from another pattern paper from the paper pad and used the leftovers to cut the strip for the front of the card (i used the square on the inside)

I then grabbed my Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles (unsure whether i used the L or S as i have them altogether) and cut a circle from the Largest die from the inside of the green matt i cut earlier.. I used the matt as i knew it would not show from under the white layer and meant i got more use out of all my papers. I then used the next size down circle die to cut a white layer. I used more leftovers out of my tub for this layer.
Next I grabbed some leftover black cardstock, used my Powder Tool to remove the static and using a small Acrylic Block from Lawn Fawn and Versamark Watermark ink pad i used one of the sentiments from the stamp set, Superfine White Embossing Powder from Wow and then heated it up using my heat gun. I then used my trimmer to cut it into a thin strip for the front of my card.

This is now where I wasn't sure what I was going to do, as sitting all the layers together it just seemed like it was missing something. I decided to use the magic wand and the potion bottle to stamp the background of the white circle I had cut (using Memento Tuxedo Black). I then used a little grey Copic Marker to add some shading to the potion bottles.

The card still needed a little something more.. so I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops to finish the card off... Now here is where I made a big mistake.. Silly me decided to work on the inside of my card and accidentally knocked it completely open and made all my drops flat lol... so I carefully used my piercing tool to scrape them up and redo them.. So please be careful and make sure they are completely dry before opening your card.
