DT Teresa - Stencils 2

Hi Everyone!

Today I am sharing another card using a stencil, our theme for this month of June.

This card uses Neenah Classic Crest 110lb Smooth Solar White Cardstock for the base which is cut with a paper trimmer at 4 1/4" x 11" and scored with a teflon bone folder at 5 1/2" to make a top folding card of 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".

I started by taping down a piece of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb Smooth Solar White Cardstock cut at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" to my work surface with masking tape to keep in place while I worked (but could be easily removed when finished) and taped down a 6" x 6" Crafter's Workshop stencil Tiny Circles over the top of the cardstock.

I mixed together in a bowl a small amount of Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste in white with a few drops of Distress Ink in Lucky Clover from a refill bottle and some emerald green glitter. I then used a palette knife to evenly apply the paste to the stencil. Once covered, I removed the stencil and immediately placed it into a basin of soapy water to be washed off later and set the stenciled cardstock aside to dry.

The beautiful image was created using Hero Arts Color Layering Peacock. The peacock was stamped with different colours of Hero Arts mid-tone Shadow Ink. The solid body was stamped with Pool, the tail with Emerald Green, the layered feathers on the body and tail and the legs in Navy and the eyes in the tail and beak were stamped with Lemon Yellow. I diecut the peacock and set it aside.

I then used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink with an ink blending tool to add colour to a piece of Neenah Classic Crest 80lb Solar White Cardstock and diecut it with the rectangle die from My Favorite Things Blueprints 21 and adhered it to the card base with Kokuyo Glue Tape Roller.

Once the stenciled cardstock piece was dry, I diecut a circle from it with a Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Circles die. I used Simon Says Stamp Cardstock Soft Navy to diecut a circle only marginally larger to tuck behind the stenciled circle piece and adhered both to the cardfront.

The sentiment from Hero Arts Color Layering Poppy was cut apart and positioned to stamp in Hero Arts mid-tone Shadow Ink, Navy, with a Misti Stamping Tool onto a strip of cardstock, along with flourishes from the Hero Arts Color Layering Peacock stamp set.

I diecut multiple copies of the peacock shape and glued them as a stack to create a chipboard-type piece and placed the stamped image on top. I then stuck the sentiment piece to the card and glued the peacock on top before brushing A Wink of Stella, Clear, onto each of the yellow areas for some shimmer.

Thankyou for following along with me today. Please feel free to ask questions if anything needs clarifying. If you cannot find the items I have used (listed below) in the Auzz Trinklets and Crafts store, be sure to drop Neha a message via email or Facebook and she will do what she can to order the product in for you.

Happy crafting and have a great day!

Teresa

DT Clarinda - Pretty Layout using Stencils

Hi Peeps,

Welcome to my last post, today I have a pretty layout using a stencil in the background.
The first this I did was choose the photo and the paper. This paper is by Lemoncraft. I then stamped randomly around the page with a music themed stamp using brown distress ink.

I then tore up an old page from a music book into strips and glued it down using a thin coat of 3D matte gel. I then used a mandala stencil and white texture paste to create texture to under and around where the photo would be. You can see in the photo below, while it was still wet I carefully dripped some pink ink into the paste to die it and added glitter on top.

Next, using Lindy's stamp gang's Moonshadow Mist spray in Violaceous Violet I dripped the ink from the top of the page. I love these sprays as they look vintage brown from one angle then when you tilt the page they have a shiny secondary colour, this one is purple (you will see it in other photos.

Once this was done and while it was drying I picked out some emphemera to match the colour scheme.  I then inked all the emphemera with Walnut stain Distress Ink and Colorbox chalk ink.

When it was all dry I moved things around until I was happy with the layout and stuck them down with 3D matte gel. I wanted flowers coming out of the jar of hearts, so I stuck down some leaves and an emphemera flower as the base.

I then added flowers over the top. I wanted the hearts to stand out so I glued some tiny gold hearts onto the jar as well.

To finish it off I distressed the edges of the paper and added extra prima flowers.

I hope you enjoy my layout as much as I enjoyed making it.
Hugs
Clarinda xx

DT Tracey....Stencils

Hey Everyone, I'm back to share another project using "Stencils"........which is our theme for the month.
I have used "Altenew Floral Drape" Stencil to create the background on this layout. It is the same stencil I used on the card I shared a few weeks ago.
Its been a lot time since I created a double page layout!

I used a dauber and chalk inks to add colour to the stencil. The Pretty flowers and leaves are from "Altenew Beautiful day" stamp set. I only used the outline stamp .........I then used an aqua brush and Gelatos to create a soft water colour effect to colour in.  A few colour shine spatters, a sprinkle of sequins, wood veneer butterflies, and doilies with a tiny heart button...........lots of my favorite bits and pieces 😊

Happy Crafting x

DT Deni - June Stencils

Good Morning Everyone,

DT Deni with you today, we have been creating with Stencils this month, the girls have done such a great job with their projects and I am excited to share mine with you for the second time this month.

The stencil I have chosen to use today is from My Favorite Things and is called Stencil Star Grid.

I have done things a little backwards for my project today and found a stencil I wanted to use first and then went looking for stamps and things to use.

I received a rather large package from Auzz Trinklets N Crafts this past week and this stamp set I have used is from this package.. not very often I get to use a product so quickly.

What I wanted to show you in this picture is the big boo boo I made hahah. After I finished masking and stamping all my images I must have somehow got some ink on my hand, it was all over the side of my image, lucky I was able to re-diecut it using a smaller die.. but I still had a little on the right hand side of the card.. I used some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Black to try and hide it.. I'm sure my Dad probably won't even notice but since I am so critical on my own work it will drive me crazy :-)

DT Teresa - Stencils

Hello!

Our fun theme this month sees us playing with stencils. I own a number of stencils but have not used these great tools as often as I should, so I have really been looking forward to this month!

I took a piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock cut at 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" and taped it onto my work surface to prevent it from moving and placed the My Favorite Things Stencil - Waves onto the lower half of the piece and taped it in position also. I then swiped Gina K. Designs*Thermoweb Turquoise Sea ink over the stencil with a Ranger Blending Tool, creating an ombre effect as I applied the ink more softly towards the bottom of the piece.

I removed the stencil and then did the same with the Tim Holtz Rays Layering Stencil on the top half of the card, this time using Barn Door, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber and Scattered Straw Distress Ink. I die cut this piece with the stitched rectangle die from My Favorite Things Blueprints 13 using a Sizzix Bigshot Machine

Using Neenah Classic Crest 80lb Solar White cardstock, I die cut the larger sized Lawn Fawn Say Cheese, Again polaroid frame and cut another frame with Turquoise Sea cardstock from the Gina K. Designs*Thermoweb Island Dream collection. This gave me the blue I needed to place inside the frame. Before cutting the Turquoise Sea cardstock however, I used the My Favorite Things Stencil Waves once again. After taping in place, I used Thermoweb iCraft Decofoil Transfer Gel, smearing it over the stencil with a small craft spatula and placed aside to dry. Once dry, I foiled the piece using Gina K. Designs*Thermoweb Fancy Foils Turquoise Sea with my Heidi Swapp Minc Machine. As my background had a distressed feel, I decided to distress the foil a little too with a Tim Holtz Retractable Craft Scratcher.

I stamped My Favorite Things Seaside Seagulls with a Misti stamping tool in Memento Black ink onto Neenah Classic Crest 80lb Solar White cardstock, diecut and coloured the images with Copic Markers. I stamped the sentiment onto the polaroid frame from the same set using Hero Arts Black dye ink

To assemble the card, I adhered the stitched rectangle diecut background onto a slightly larger rectangle piece cut from Gina K. Designs*Thermoweb Turquoise Sea cardstock with a paper trimmer using Kokuyo Glue Tape Roller. I adhered a slightly smaller piece of scrap cardstock behind the polaroid frame and placed the Gina K. Designs*Thermoweb Turquoise Sea cardstock square insert foiled piece to this within the frame and stuck the frame to the background piece using 3M Scotch Foam Tape. I popped the seagulls into position and finished off the card with some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins in 4mm and 6mm, adhered with Ranger Multi Medium Matte.

Teresa

DT...Tracey

Hey Everyone,
We have a fun theme for the month of June...."Stencils"
I have created a very Simple or Cas Style card using "Altenew - Floral Drape Stencil

I first used painters tape to secure the stencil to the paper. I used  different chalk ink to blend the colours with daubers onto the stencil design..

After the design was all inked, I cut the paper to my card size, mat it with coordinating card stock, then to a white card base.
I splattered some extra ink over the design and a few sequin to finish it off.
"Thank you" sentiment is from Altenew Painted rose.

Hope this has given you more ideas on how you can create with your stencils

Happy Crafting

DT Deni - June Stencils

Good Morning Everyone, it's a very chilly one in Sydney Australia this morning brrrr. So my typing is a little slower than normal whilst my fingers thaw out lol.

June is Stencil month here at Auzz Trinklets N Crafts, and another one of those things I like to hoard and not use so much, i've had this My Favorite Things English Brick Wall Stencil for quite a while now and pretty sure I have never used it.

When I went looking for a stamp set to use for this month I decided to use the Playful Pups from My Favorite Things, after stamping and colouring and also die cutting I then decided to go looking through my stencils to find something that would co-ordinate and create me a card. The brick wall jumped at me and that's what I decided to do.

I taped a piece of white cardstock to my desk mat using Washi Tape and used a mixture of Distress Mini Ink Cubes and a mini ink blender to create the background.

I cut the little hill/ground section using Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders die and some Kraft Cardstock scraps.

I then grabbed some white cardstock scraps and cut the word "Congrats" using Scripty Congrats word die from Lawn Fawn. The sentiment is cut using Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiments dies and the sentiment is stamped using Lawn Fawn Blue Jay ink, the sentiment is from Sunny Studio - Baby Bear stamp set.

Everything is adhered together using either Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Adhesive or Scotch ATG. Trimming is all done on my Cutterpillar Pro, and die cutting on Sizzix Big Shot.

DT Clarinda - Using a stencil

Hi Guys,

Here is my first blog entry for this months theme - stencils. I hope you enjoy the card I have made :)

I began with a blank craft card and my stencil is called favourite lace by Joanna Sheen. I always write the names of the stencil on the stencil so I don't forget what they are.

When I am stencilling onto a piece of card that is smaller than the stencil I like to tape it all down so that it doesn't move around. I use washi tape to do this as it is easy to remove and doesn't damage the paper.

I used three different dimensional colour pastes to do this - Dazzlers - lemon drop; Color burst - tangerine dream; and Myartc - platinum. They were applied with a spatula. The Myartc is grainy and dries rough with a beautiful shimmer that looks like it has tiny glass beads in it, where the other two are smooth and glossy.

You can see here how the washi tape held it nice and still so I could get good coverage with little mess.

While the paste was still wet I smoothed off the edges, then I allowed it to dry. Once dry I decorated it with cut cardboard, one piece in white which I stamped and then I stamped a happy birthday stamp onto white cardboard and cut it out.

I layered these and attached with foam tape to lift them. I then added flowers and ribbon from my stash using Prima 3D dimensional paste.  And here is the finished card......

Thanks for visiting.... See you next time
Clarinda xx
