Good Morning Everyone!
Today I have a card to share with you for Auzz Trinklets N Krafts. Our theme for September is "Boys will be Boys".
I have just received a haul from Auzz Trinklets of craft goodies and within that box was the new dragon stamp set from My Favorite Things called Magical Dragons and the matching dies.
I have created a birthday card using this stamp set which i am totally in love with already, MFT Stamps always stamp beautiful first go which is always nice for us stampers.. it means no stamp prepping needed.
Also in this box of goodies was the Simply Circles Background stamp from MFT.
I started by using the stitched squares die from MFT Blueprints 14 to cut a square from Mondi Color Copy, i then used my the Simply Circles Background stamp to stamp straight onto that square using Lawn Fawn Fish Tank blue ink. I didn't need to adhere the stamp to my block, i just layed it onto my desk and popped the stitched square onto it with a piece of scrap paper over the top, i then carefully rubbed over the whole thing to make sure it was stamped clearly.
Then i used the plain square die also from the Blueprints 14 set to cut another square using Mondi Color Copy. I then used the Puffy Clouds dies from Lawn Fawn to cut some cloud layers, i did it this way as to not add a whole heap of extra thickness onto my card.
I then used a round blending tool from Ranger and Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass ink to give some colour to the clouds.
Next i grabbed the Magical Dragons stamp set and stamped out all the images on Mondi Color Copy as i was unsure yet of what i was going to do, or what images i was going to use. I then remembered seeing on pinterest (possibly) where someone had used a cake stamp to make it look like the dragon was blowing out the candles. So i thought id try to create something along those lines.
I also stamped out the little cake from the MFT Birthday Bears stamp set and cut it using the matching dies. (These are actually a solid die so I cut first then stamped)
I coloured all the images using Copic Markers (listed below), my youngest helped me with the decisions of colours :-)
I then adhered all the images down using Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Adhesive.
Once everything was done i then adhered my layout to a card base from Twiddleybitz using my Scotch ATG and added my business label to the back of the card. (I created these myself and i now do print and cut on my silhouette).
I used my Misti Stamping Tool to stamp all my Dragon images, i then used my Lawn Fawn Acrylic blocks to stamp the sentiment and cake as they were sitting in front of me at the time.
I hope you have enjoyed my post today, if you have any questions feel free to send me a message or contact me via facebook (all links can be found below).
(I forgot to mention i messed up the sentiment so had to then re-stamp it onto a Lawn Fawn banner die cut to cover it up lol..this is why i should never stamp straight onto my layout).
