Altenew Level 2 Final Challenge.

Phew!! what a remarkable techniques I have learned from those 20 classes up till now. Just AMAZING! All teachers are very talented and very cleaver must say that.

Before you all start reading a big heads up as this is a long blog post I have ever written.

My final Challenge for level 2.

For my final challenge it was very difficult for me to decide which project should I make as there were too many to choose from. So I went ahead and made a home decor or you can say a candle gift set with coordinating handmade box along with a tag by applying 5 of my best techniques which I have learnt from the clever instructors at the academy.

Here is my step by step process for making the Candles first:

For My candles I have used Build-A- Flower : Anemone Coronaria . I stamped the two flowers on Neenah Solar white 80lbs and fussy cut them out so that I can use them for masking.

Tip: I have not used any dies to cut them out as I fussy cut them on to the lines so that when I stamp they are aligned with each other and does not leave any gap in between two flowers.

I took a piece of tissue paper and stamped those two flowers by masking and layering them.

In the pictures below, I have tried Masking unleashed technique taught by Svitlana Shayevich where I have stamped and masked my images with the help of the cut out piece of  the flower, I did in the beginning.

With the help of those flowers I also stamped my leaves around the flowers along with the stem .

Tip: I have just used one stem from the stamp set. Stamped it first and then flipped and stamped again so I have both sides leaning with just one stamp.

Below is the final outcome of my stamping and Masking.

Now the big part for me was choosing my colours which was solved by the clever tutor Therese Calvird from her Class Colour my day : Inspired with Colours. My inspiration of colors was from a picture I really liked while surfing through my pinterest.

Another lovely technique which Altenew flowers are based on are taught by Sara  Naumann in her lesson Irresistible Inking technique with simple layered stamping giving a dimension and depth to flower image. Therefore when I went to see my markers I tried to choose the closest from my palette.I have used Altenew Artist Markers Forest Glades and Evergreen for my leaves and stem.

For coloring of my flowers I have used the layering stamp from the same stamp set along with the Altenew mini cube inks Purple wine and Puffy Heart. Ones I stamped and colored everything I tore my tissue paper as close as possible without ruining work .

Then I put my image on the candle and warped it around with a baking paper and heat it with my heat gun as the images starts sticking to the candle, you with see your image will become more clearer after heating.

Tip: When coloring on the tissue paper do put a piece of paper so that the colour does not bleed on your surface.

Tip: Do not use the heat gun too close to the candle otherwise it will start melting.
Have big enough baking paper so that you can wrap and hold from behind.

This is how I made my candles.

Now the fun part, making the box.
For my box which I bought from a local craft shop , I colored the box with white Acrylic paint.

Ones I finished with painting I left it to dry. With my tissues paper I used same steps which I explained above for my Stamping, Masking and Coloring.

Tip: My tissue paper was a bit longer this time ( approx a size of the box).

But here I would like to add that I also went  one more step ahead with Coloring. I learned from Marika Rahtu a beautiful and very talented instructor with putting details on the image to give more life and depth to it.

Before putting the tissue on the box I did colour with the Purple wine Altenew Artist makers and made some more details on the flower petals and they blended very nicely.

As soon as I finished my colouring I stuck my tissue paper on the box and sealed it with gloss gel.
For my lid I had some stripe wrapping paper which I just wrapped around it.

Once the candles and box finished the out come was beautiful.

For my last part making my tag to compliment with my candle and the Box.

Here for my tags I took one piece of black and one piece of (slightly smaller than black) a white cardstock. . On my white cardstock I took Altenew Cozy Flannel Cover die and did a partial die cutting which you can see from my picture below.

Tip: I have put my cardstock in such a way that my borders are not cutting and I am trying to cut just the design in a slant . So my die is slightly on an angle when i cut it.

After this I stamped my flowers again on the white cardstock with my versamark and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. ( my stamped flower image is looking like grey because I have so much of black ink on my flower stamp that I ended up with some on this one when i stamped with Versmark)

I stamped my sentiment from the stamp set Build-A- Flower camellia on a piece of vellum .
Before sticking my sentiment I also did two things. For colouring one of the flowers I used Aletnew Rose Quarty ink pad to layer my stamp and using Alcohol artist marker frosty pink to give extra definition to it. I also used Altenew sunkissed for the center along with Artist Marker Rocky Shore to do my flower center.
Second was using the Altenew Jet black ink pad dabbing some on my glass media mat with water and then took my brush to splatter some on my white cardstock.

Sorry for writing such a long post. Hope you all enjoyed it. And would love to see if I have inspired someone at all.

Thank you for stopping by.

Altenew Creative Watercolor Media

Wow ! finally onto my last card for my level 2 Altenew Educator Program.

Today I am sharing the card which I created after learning from the Guru's of Altenew Jennifer Rzasa, Debby Hughes, and Laura Bassen. Wow their online class Creative water color media is just amazing.

So many different ways you can color your images by just using Altenew's ink pads or re-inkers .. yes I am right just re-inkers.

At the end of this blog post I have also attached a small experiment I did with my re-inkers. O what a fun!

So here I am with my Card where I have used Canson watercolor Paper , Peach perfect re-inker for my background and flowers from Altenew Disty Print Stamp. Images are colored using ink pads and water brush pen.

For my Background ,I took a piece of canson cardstock. Then I took out few drops of re-inker on my Glass media mat and sprayed water over re-inker drops . With the help of a water brush pen I tried to lift and dabbed the ink on my paper gently everywhere (I had sparyed lots of water on my mat over the reinker drops) as I wanted a very light colour for my background.

Ones the background is dry I used a gold embossing powder to heat emboss my Ditsy print stamped images.

For colouring my leaves and flowers I firstly dabbed a colour on the mat and then picked them up with my water brush pen to paint my flowers.

Now my sentiments are from halftone everything stamp and dies where I used a royal blue cardstock along with white to cut them out and used foam tape to adhere them . From the same coordinating stamp set , I have also stamped "Thanks for" with Persian blue ink pad .

Last part of the card was a bit of enhancing my flower center which I did with some diamonds lying in my stash.

Hope you all liked it .

Oh! before I forget , here is my experimented work or you can say a background I created with the re-inker on a glossy card stock.

Hope you all like it.

Please don't forget to leave me a comment as its boosts my morale to create more for sure.
Take Care

Altenew Magical Markers

Before I started this card I was very scared as I am not at all a colouring girl.

When it comes to coloring with alcohol markers I am one step back. But in the class with Sara Naumann , she made it look so simple to work with the Alcohol markers that I have given my try to it and vola!! I really liked my card.  So below is my work with the makers.

She  told us about various ways in which we can make use of our alcohol markers, So I have used them on Vellum.

I have cut a card base out from Neenah solar white in a size of 4 1/4' x 11'  and scored at 5 1/2' and another piece of vellum , cut to a size of 4 1/4' x 5 1/2'.  I have used Altenew Bamboo Rose stamp set  and heat embossed it using white embossing powder on vellum.

Then I used Altenew Marker R304 and R335 for flowers and G715 and G554 for leaves .

For my flowers and leaves I have coloured on the other side of embossed side and used the pouncing technique to colour them.

Now I took the vellum which I just colored and stick on to the card base. I have used the sentiment from the same stamp set and stamped on  a white flag strip, giving it a black shadow with a black cardstock strip.

Hope you all like it.
